In addition, you can use medicated liquids in the pullout tray on the back that has a small pad. These would be 100% pure essential oils (not included) to drop onto the pad. Be careful when you pull the tray out—it does not have stops and can fall to the floor. Do not put oils into the water tank because it will corrode the parts—only put on the small pad.
The humidifier has a white base and sky blue top for continual moisture and is a top choice for cold and flu seasons. The durable heavy plastic is Bisphenol A (BPA-free). The shapely unit will fit any décor anywhere you use it.
The unit holds 2.6 liters (2.75 quarts) of water and will run up to 6 hours on one water tank filling. It will conveniently shut off automatically when the water is gone without a beeping noise that might awaken your baby. The unit mists 380 mL (12.85 ounces) of moisture each hour. Use distilled or purified water because it is best for less cleaning of the unit. Distilled water costs about $1 at most grocery and dollar stores. Ordinary tap water puts lime scale and mineral deposits in the unit requiring more frequent cleanings. Tap water minerals also produce a white dust on your furniture. If you have a whole-house water purifier or reverse osmosis unit, use that water.
To clean the unit, use a little dish detergent with water and let it run 10 minutes. Do not use powdered laundry detergent or dishwasher detergents. You can also use rubbing alcohol or clear distilled vinegar with a cotton swab for the ring inside. Be very gentle at the ring area. Rinse well with cool water a few times and towel dry. Never leave water in the humidifier because it will cause mold to grow. Be sure it is clean when you store it in the original box with the Styrofoam™ bottom and top packing squares to hold it in place.
The humidifier has long-life LED lights in 7 colors that will rotate between each color of yellow, pink, white, and blue. You can operate the unit with or without lights and with or without mist.
